Benjamin and the Water

Benjamin loves the water...any amount, any place! It use to be problem when we were outside. Puddles, sprinklers, birdbaths. But now, Benjamin has figured out how to turn on the faucet at just about every sink in our house...and he's getting sneaky about it.

The other day, I was upstairs gathering the dirty clothes and I could hear him dragging something across the hardwood floors. This is what I found when I came downstairs...
When I came into the bathroom Benjamin said, "Oh...hi Mommy. What are you doing in here?" My thoughts exactly!
After shooing him out of the bathroom, I ask him to go get dressed for the day. I tell him I'll be up in a few minutes. He says he doesn't need me to come up and help him. Really?...Since when? But I know exactly what he's planning...
And I wonder why there's never any soap in the bathroom...

Garden Flower Afghan

I have been working on this afghan for well over a year...not every night, but occasionally. Mostly while watching KU basketball games and long trips to Kansas. Like our adoption process, this project has really been dragging out...but nothing lights your fire like a photo of your sweet little girl...and so I finally finished it!
The original pattern came from Lion Brand Yarn and was much smaller. This is a great pattern because you can add to it to make it as big as you want. I like this size because it's the perfect size for a crib mattress.
Benjamin and Jackson have requested an afghan, too. Luckily, my Aunt Kathleen made Benjamin a sweet little afghan when he was baby. I quickly reminded him he already had one in his room and he ran off to get it.

I will start on Jackson's afghan next...after we get back from China!

We Have A Daughter!

After waiting 5 1/2 years, we have finally been matched with the most beautiful baby girl. She just turned 8 months old and is in an orphanage in Southern China. Unfortunately, we can't share her photo or any specifics until we receive Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from China which could be sometime in May...bummer I know! However, we couldn't resist giving you a little sneak peek.

We have named her Lillian Mei Lee Felix. Her referral documents say she is a happy, active little girl who likes to smile at her nanny and play peekaboo. We hope to travel sometime in August and will be gone for two weeks. We will be taking the boys with us on the trip along with Richard and Susan Felix, my mom Sawny, and hopefully our cousin Shelly. There is a chart on our blog under the Adoption Process tab that shows our estimated timeline if all things go smoothly.

We know many of you have had us in your thoughts and prayers since the beginning. We are so thankful for such wonderful friends! God has truly blessed us with Lillian and we couldn't be more happy!

If you get a chance, sign up for our blog emails (upper right side of blog) so you don't miss any important baby updates and you can keep up on the wild and crazy things the boys are up to.
